The Patient Support Specialist (PSS) helps HHC meet its goal of successfully managing the comprehensive care of all its patients- prospects and existing. The PSS will primarily handle inbound calls generated through marketing and outreach efforts with the main objective to secure the appointment when appropriate. The role is also responsible for making outbound calls, resolving patient issues when possible, and communicating patient needs and requests to the care teams in the practice. The PSS(s) collaborate closely with the Patient Care team* to ensure delivery of an outstanding and positive patient experience.   Specific responsibilities:   · Answer all inbound marketing calls. · Answer inbound overflow calls, remote office calls received during lunch, remote office calls received during bathroom breaks or when offices are slammed, cover calls during Monday meetings and other meetings for all offices · Make outbound calls on behalf of all offices to follow up on current patients (1+, 2+ and 3+) · Update patient information and manage information in our electronic medical records (EMR) system- CounselEar · Schedule appointments for patients with their preferred HHC provider while adhering to the practice’s block schedule · Obtain doctor order/referral or pre-authorization as needed. Collaborate with Biller and/or Patient Care Team when needed. Manage patient referrals by obtaining authorizations and faxing requested information to specialists [EM1] [SL2] · Identify dissatisfied patients and proactively correct, address patient concerns, and notify management when needed · Work closely with patient care team members to provide the highest level of customer service and act as an extension of the offices · Track and report call results daily and accurately · Knowledgeable and up-to-date on current marketing campaigns and recommended scripts · Handle TNS follow up calls if providers are too busy · Follow up on website chat, “contact us” and other patient inquiries and submissions   Other responsibilities:   · Attend daily huddle at home office. · Sit in with providers once per month to better understand the patient journey. · Take on side projects to work on during slow days. · Meet with CEM and Patient support team weekly to review current campaigns, calls, metrics, patient complaints and other issues[EM3] [SL4] · Attend monthly and quarterly meetings.
