  • Overview

    A successful Hearing Health care practice is looking for an Audiology Assistant to provide support services and assist the Audiologist in the delivery of services to the hearing impaired public consistent with company policy.  This position is an essential part of the practice, as it helps ensure the day to day patient services.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for inventory and supply control/management
    • Clean all Audiology equipment at end of each work day
    • Contact patients to confirm HI appointments, schedule fits, manage repairs, etc.
    • Provide Care & Use Instruction to patients
    • Maintain Audiology Department files such as price lists, mailings, physician referrals, etc.
    • Ensure that patient education materials are stocked and displayed
    • Carry out Audiology Department office administrative duties
    • Establish a performance system for follow-up with patients and tracking sales with new and existing customers
    • Participate in continuing education events, and other training programs to enhance knowledge and ability to perform job responsibilities
    • Adhere to goals and policies established by the company
    • Prepare Patient Recall letters and cards
    • Work directly with hearing aid manufacturers. 

    Qualifications

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but not required
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Basic understanding of the needs of the population being served
    • Ability to multitask and wear many hats is a must
    • Must be organized, detail oriented, and a quick learner
    • Must be proficient with computer skills
    • Strong troubleshooting skills

    Skills & Expertise:

    • Able to administer annual audiological screenings, hearing aid orientations, hearing aid repairs, hearing aid cleaning, order and analyze new and repaired aids, ear mold adjustments, counseling
    • Shows ability in demonstrating all products and services, including the Complete Hearing Health Care program
    • Meet training requirements and have competency based skills necessary to the performance of specific assigned tasks
